Pitch.
A while back Boomerang invited us to pitch for their refresh. We’ve worked with Turner several times and always jump at the chance to do it again.

One of the best parts of working on a kid’s channel is the research and we dutifully fixed a bowl of cereal and sat down in front of the TV to watch cartoons. Great characters never get old and, as you probably already know, today you can spend your Saturday morning with new episodes featuring Daffy Duck, Scooby Doo, Penelope Pitstop and the rest of the characters you grew up with.

We wanted to take the kids’ perspective. We were inspired by the love of drawing that most kids have—which isn’t surprising considering who we are.  We also wanted to blur the border between the real world and the screen. The kid drawn aesthetic mixed into the world of the characters help bring the kids into that world and hopefully inspires the kids to bring the characters into theirs.

Because kids do not differentiate between screens, we needed a versatile system with strong continuity across media.
