He is The Tumbling Octopus. I love drawing the swirly flows of the octopus tentacles. I could do it all day. This sketch started out by me just drawing swirls on the paper and eventually they started looking like octopuses… so I went with it.

The original pencil sketch had some very roughed in details. I likekd them, so I kept them in the final colored piece.

Here is the finished product on paper with the mess of watercolors in the background.
