BC SPCA - Treat Week Brochure
First year student project designing a brochure for the BC SPCA's treat week event.
Background
The British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is a non-profit animal welfare organization which advocates for animal protection legislation, operates animal shelters, and runs educational workshops and public awareness programs throughout British Columbia, Canada.
The Problem
The objective behind creating this brochure was to help educate the public about animal welfare while getting people excited to be involved in a community based event
to help animals.
to help animals.
The Solution
When designing the final brochure, I incorporated endearing imagery and bright colors with an event checklist and a cut away recipe panel, giving people even more reason to both pick up and keep the brochure. By designing a cut-off recipe card a social exchange begins between the company and the viewer. This causes people to be more likely to want to reciprocate as they feel they have been given something valuable.
