This project aims to bring up-to-date the Crass image and communicate the political, anti-everything messages the band stood for by making their lyrics more understandable through typography. Whilst, keeping the anarcho-punk, do-it-yourself ethic the Crass believed in.The outcome was a typographic vinyl cover, poster and music video treatment using the lyrics. The vinyl cover and poster were screen printed for a rough and ready look and in keeping with the DIY ethic the band stood for. And the idea for the promo was to make a typographic music video using animated lyrics in the form of newspaper headlines, articles, adverts, job section and other newspaper elements. A newspaper style layout was designed with letterpress type and cut-up newspaper clippings.
