218 steps divide the resort where the artists stay and the tent where the studio is. 218 steps that are repeated several times during the day, being an essential part of the everyday experience in Kutch. Taking this distance as a reference, a series of 8 landscape interventions have been carried out. As it is observed in the photographic registration, each of them consist in a line formed by 8 stones that were taken from the terrain, painted in different colours and placed back in the territory. There are located in specific points, always in a 218 step distance, in different directions and based on various concepts that are brought up having a line as an axis: the road, the Horizon, the frontier with Pakistan, the games in the ground…
This Land Art praxis has been accompanied by a map in which each line’s location is represented abstractly, inviting the spectator to share the artist’s experience and explore the territory.
