Celebrating the mysteries of the natural world - Philip Koch began painting as an abstract artist but changed to working as a realist
after discovering the work of the 20th century American artist Edward Hopper.
Since 1983 Koch has been honored with 14 residencies in Hopper's former painting
studio in S. Truro, MA on Cape Cod.
13 American art museums hold Koch's work in their Permanent Collections. From
2008 - 2012, the exhibition Unbroken Thread: The Art of Philip Koch traveled
to eight art museums and art centers.

This was painted in the bedroom of the famous American realist Edward Hopper in Nyack, NY.
The room in the background was Hopper's bedroom, where he was born and where he lived until he was 28.
